When we planned our Spring Break trip to Moclips, a small town on the Washington Coast, it was under the assumption that we'd have rain/clouds/typical April ocean weather...who-da-thunk it... we've had two days (so far) of SUNSHINE! Don't mistake me-it's still chilly and windy, however the simple fact that we have blue sky and sun is by far the best surprise! What a treat to let the kids play on the beach, building forts and digging in the sand, while Husband and I relax. We took a quick trip into Ocean Shores this morning to check it out. I have never been to the Washington Coast and we figured we might as well see what Ocean Shores was like...not super impressed. I'm very happy with our beach cottage in Moclips. We are right on the ocean with just a few other houses nestled around us. Tomorrow we are going north a bit to check out some hiking trails that Husband found...and in between our mini-day adventures we are playing cards, reading, doing puzzles, building sand forts, drinking wine, and eating (every Sackman's favorite vacation past time). The trip home on Friday is likely to be a long one....we broke up our drive over by spending the night in Seattle, taking the kids to the Pacific Science Center and downtown, and then enjoying TJ's favorite Seattle meal,
Dick's! Friday we are making the long haul all the way to Omak...not looking forward to that, however it's all part of getting out of Omak and making sure our kids get a chance to experience other parts of our world. Pictures to come soon!
