Moclips, WA

The beach at Moclips, right outside our door.
A store in Ocean Shores...the kid's HAD to stop!

It was a bit windy!

All three kids spent hours playing in this pirate boat on the beach!

Aaaarrrgh!

Pirate Master Finley!
Yummm, smores!

We tried to tell him this isn't a good roasting stick....

Beautiful sunset

The pirate trail back to the house.

There was a lot of rough water and the tide was really murky...we kept joking it was all the radiation washing ashore.

A beautiful day!

When TJ was about 3 we would jokingly call these weird plants "whale penis's" unfortunately that term has stuck (we see them in Cannon Beach each summer) but it's a bit embarrassing when your kids are screaming, "A whale penis!" on the beach in front of others!

Good thing she's so sturdy or she'd get blown away!

Spring Break Adventure

When we planned our Spring Break trip to Moclips, a small town on the Washington Coast, it was under the assumption that we'd have rain/clouds/typical April ocean weather...who-da-thunk it... we've had two days (so far) of SUNSHINE! Don't mistake me-it's still chilly and windy, however the simple fact that we have blue sky and sun is by far the best surprise! What a treat to let the kids play on the beach, building forts and digging in the sand, while Husband and I relax. We took a quick trip into Ocean Shores this morning to check it out. I have never been to the Washington Coast and we figured we might as well see what Ocean Shores was like...not super impressed. I'm very happy with our beach cottage in Moclips. We are right on the ocean with just a few other houses nestled around us. Tomorrow we are going north a bit to check out some hiking trails that Husband found...and in between our mini-day adventures we are playing cards, reading, doing puzzles, building sand forts, drinking wine, and eating (every Sackman's favorite vacation past time). The trip home on Friday is likely to be a long one....we broke up our drive over by spending the night in Seattle, taking the kids to the Pacific Science Center and downtown, and then enjoying TJ's favorite Seattle meal, Dick's! Friday we are making the long haul all the way to Omak...not looking forward to that, however it's all part of getting out of Omak and making sure our kids get a chance to experience other parts of our world. Pictures to come soon!

St. Patty's Singing!

A few pictures of our Friday night Karaoke adventures at our friends Bill & Maria's St. Patrick's Day Party. I thought both pictures were hilarious...check out Bill's face in the above picture! He's a really good singer and I'm the total opposite of good, but I've never met a microphone I didn't like! The top picture I'm working really hard to find the right pitch as I plug my ear and try to harmonize. Joking!

A LITTLE BIT OF THIS & THAT!

TJ and CJ after their game, watching the 3rd grade girls game.

Such good friends!

Say "Cheese!" Finny loves anything bedazzled!

Superbowl Sunday...captivated by the game.

TJ's team lost, but he's still a devoted Pittsburg Fan!

Never have we had such a fancy Superbowl party...chocolate fountain was a big hit with the kids.

I'm sure Katy is still finding chocolate fingerprints around her house!

Two of my favorite people...oh yeah and Ryan!! These two met 15 years ago Superbowl weekend at Scott Little's house...only something us Omakians would remember! They have two awesome kiddo's and are super friends who I love!
