DIY

Back in August we started having a small electrical malfunction with one of our porch lights. Every time we turned on the front porch light from the switch in the entry way, it blew the house breaker and all the lights in the entire house went out. Super. So I enlisted the help of Husband to take a look. He walked down to the dungeon, looked at the circuit breaker...went outside and unscrewed the light bulb in the fixture...looked some more...screwed it back in...told me he had no clue and left for practice.

So over the next few days our lights would go out whenever anyone accidentally flipped the middle light switch in the foyer...and of course Hubs was no where to be found due to practice...so what did I do? I put about 5 layers of packing tape over the middle light switch so the kids would stop turning it on...and we went on with life...until Today! Hubs devoted two hours after church to solve the mystery of the light switch. He replaced all sorts of things in the switch, in the circuit breaker, outside in the light fixture, etc.

It reminded me of Christmas Vacation when Clark was trying to get the 10,000 twinkle lights to work and Ellen flipped the overcrowded power cord in the garage...Hubs was yelling at me from the basement, "Are they on?" "No!" "Now?" "No!" "Ok...now?" "Still no!" So I left to get groceries.

When Finny and I returned from the store the boys were screaming to report to me, "Daddy got SHOCKED!" Which led me to make the executive decision to retape the light switch and call an electrician. Grrr....I hate junk like this...I just want things to work! So the tape went back on...because that's how we roll.
